Red Glass Plate Header Design in Photoshop

Step one:

  • Start with a large black canvas. Make a new layer set titled Red Glass Plate Header.
  • Set your foreground to #BB0000 and background to #8E0000.
  • In a new layer make a wide marquee selection. (width: 600 x height: 180)
  • Inside the selection, add a linear gradient effect using the gradient tool.

    Step two:

  • Select the rounded rectangle tool and set the the radius setting to 20px with anti-aliased.
  • In a new layer draw a #BC0000 round rectangle. (width: 214 x height: 83)
  • In a new layer draw a #000000 circle. (width: 66 x height: 66)
  • Add the following layer styles: Inner Glow, Stroke.

    Step three:

  • In a new layer make another #BC0000 round rectangle. (width: 83 x height: 83)
  • Add the following layer styles: Inner Shadow, Stroke.

    Step four:

  • Now just duplicate the layer from step three to make more #BC0000 round rectangle. This space will hold your main navigation, in this design the set-up is designed to hold 3 navigation logos.
